The next Clayton Day will be August 7, 2010.

Following the great donation (this year the proceeds went to the Clayton/ Deer Park Historical Society) breakfast and fun run all of Clayton people from miles around gathered in front of the Clayton Brickyard Tavern and up and down Railroad Ave. As far as you can see people wait in anticipation of the the CLAYTON DAY PARADE. You are never disappointed. The dignitaries were out in force. Left to Right. Edward (Pudge) King Kingrey, Grandson of Walter Sr. and Clara King, Alan Berg, Clayton (Art) Stelting, Duane Costa, Jack Lewis, Honorary Mayor (chuckle) of both Deer Park and Clayton.

Violet Nolan Westby Zimmerer, Grand Marshall of Clayton Day 2009, escorted by Randy Long of Clayton Drive In fame. Violet is the daughter of Ida Westby Nolan, daughter of Ole T. and Helena Westby. Circa 90 years later she lives within a quarter mile of where she was born.

Historic personality lineup. Ed Kingrey is greeted by Vera Wind Spalding, Matriarch of Clayton & Mother of Christine behind her. Joreen Peer, Eddie Olson (Patriarch of Clayton), Minnie Westby Hayworth enjoying the reception as is her husband Glen.

Violet Zimmerer and her Daughter Lorraine (Rainy) Nord., after the Ball is over.

Margie Tobeck Malek gives a Brickyard Tavern welcome to her old School chum Eddie. She is also a former owner of this establishment.

Alan Berg's daughter and son in law ( very impressive couple), Edward and Mari Kingrey. Ed must have been a neat young man. He is still remembered by friends young and old. Glen Barnes, son of George. Bob Clouse & Mary Clouse.

Lyle Holcomb spots Eddie Kingrey. They have not seen each other for some 50 years or more.

With three of these men, Alan Berg on the left, Jack Lewis far right and Art Stelting near right it's possible to get the straight scoop on any subject regarding Clayton's past.

First looking East & now West, A forest of trees masquerades the terrain of what use to be.

Every single year this little town comes alive and this is what it looks like in both directions. That's Andy Carlson in the blue shirt on the announcer's stand. Andy has been the Parade's announcer for many years. He always does a wonderful job.

Even Cheney, Washington, sent their Rodeo Queen to Clayton's parade.

No Parade is complete without Ponies.

There are absolutely oodles of children in the Parade and along the route.

This is Deer Park's award winning float.

That last mile must have looked pretty good. That's Howard Richards singing in the back of the wagon. You sounded good, Howard.

There is not one shread on evidence where this tiny water wagon hailed from which bears checking.

Clayton's Pee Wee Rodeo Queens.

Even Spiderman showed up.

One Blue 1960 Pontiac. Totally restored by 4 local men and it would have stole the show had they entered it in the 2009 Clayton Day Parade.

More Kids coming down the trail on their trail bikes. One wonders if these younguns can make a sling shot or make a bow and arrow.

Bill Sebright retired Arcadia School Teacher & Eddie Olson retired Washington Brick and Lime employee. Both full time Gentlemen.

This 1960 Pontiac sedan was restored inside and out to its original condition.
